{"id":23602,"date":"2025-12-17T11:53:22","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T10:53:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccod.fr\/evenements\/plots-notes-for-an-institutional-comedy\/"},"modified":"2026-02-25T12:02:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T11:02:38","slug":"plots-notes-for-an-institutional-comedy","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/cccod.fr\/en\/evenements\/plots-notes-for-an-institutional-comedy\/","title":{"rendered":"plots &amp; notes for an institutionnal comedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Suzanne Lafont\u2019s exhibition presents a series of new works using the image as a research material.<br \/>\nThe artist explores different sources of visual production, notably using artificial intelligence.<br \/>\nShe is interested in forms derived from dialogue, linking the exchange of ideas to movement, here specifically questioning the notion of the cultural institution.<br \/>The exhibition in the CCC OD Black Gallery follows the trajectory of her recent projects, acting as a complementary opus to the artist\u2019s overall body of work.<br \/>This occurrence is structured around three installations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 6 slideshow screens <i>Plots<\/i><\/li>\n<li>The 15 light tables <i>Notes for an Institutional Comedy<\/i>, featuring a fictitious dialogue between two art institutions, an art school and a museum (all generated by artificial intelligence)<\/li>\n<li>The <i>Indexes<\/i>, image-data reservoirs projected regularly in the auditorium adjacent to the Black Gallery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>A publication, in the format of a folded leaflet, extends the exhibition. It includes an interview between Suzanne Lafont and Sabeth Buchmann.<br \/>\nSabeth Buchmann is an art historian and critic. She teaches modern and postmodern art history at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. She is a member of the editorial board of the journal <em>Texte zur Kunst<\/em>.
