In her work, Agnes Thurnauer challenges the nature and role of painting. In her eyes, the painting constitutes a space for the representation of thoughts in action.
Her pieces consist of diverse and sometimes contradictory elements of modern life which form a continuous unit. Oral and written language are fundamental to her production, as many of her works present both texts and images.
