As part of its 1% artistic programme, the cccod has chosen to highlight typographic design as an extension of the building, the institution and its philosophy.
André Baldinger and Toan Vu-Huu were selected to design the entire graphic universe of the cccod, including its interior and exterior signage.
The architectural project was the starting point for their thinking. The building has a number of distinctive architectural features:
• its geometric character based on cube volumes
• its openings, through the displacement of volumes
• its play with light and the way it manifests itself
Starting from these axes, they have literally carved out the material of their typefaces, modulating their vertical proportions in relation to those of the architecture, giving the typography a unique appearance.
