Defending Ancient Waters
Defending ancestral waters brings back stories that were formed and then disappeared in contact with a body of water. Hera Büyüktaşcıyan gives us a poetic and sensitive reading of the territory that welcomes her.
The exhibition takes its title from the piece Defending Ancient Waters presented in the Nave of the Vassivière art centre*. This project at ccc od explores the agency of the non-human, examining fragments of social, environmental and cultural history and their traces, in relation to the morphological dynamics of water and what it carries in its currents.
*Exhibition co-produced with the Centre International d’Art et du Paysage – île de Vassivière. The first part was presented there from 26 November 2023 to 10 March 2024.
